Hi,

This is my first blog entry. I'm not sure what I am doing, but I hope to make this informative, fun and interesting. Hopefully. I going to try to share my thoughts and experiences with who ever reads this. So, here we go..

August 30 2007,

Did Shauna's and Jason's engagement session today. Actually, their wedding was this past Saturday but we never got around to the engagement session so decided to do a post engagement session instead. Their wedding was amazing. The ceremony was at the new Episcopal Church here on Kent Island. And the reception was next door at the American legion. I had never met her prior to the wedding day. I booked her over the phone and via email. Very unusual for me not to at least meet with them before the wedding. So, the first time I saw her was when she was putting on makeup. I noticed immediately that she was very pretty. When brides look good before they are ready, I always know they will be gorgeous once they are ready. And she did not disappoint me. I was very happy that she was such a beautiful bride. I knew the day would go well. And it did. It was only the second wedding ever at this new church. So, I was able to have fun looking for little tiny spots to get great shots. I've been to many different locations and always seen to find something that I can work with in terms of background and light. Sometimes it is such a small spot that you literally don't recognize it in the pictures. Yes, most of what I do Or we do (My brother Mike is my main assistant and second photographer) is candid and story. captureing things as they really are. Not posed or recreated. But, I do like to help the story by putting people in spots and light that look great. But I still let them be themselves. I then capture it as a story. Anyway, It worked out great. The American Legion here on Kent Island is a really inexpensive yet large and very nice place for receptions. The food is better than the expensive fancy places I go to (it's more home food tasting). At the end of the day. Everyone has the same good time here that they do anywhere else. It's about friends and family anyway. And they had a good time. The images show that.
